Chiropractic and Golf – a winning team

Looking for an alternative Father’s Day gift this year? Book Dad in for a consultation at Active Health for £20 this Fathers Day. Our blog this week will discuss how chiropractic may benefit sportsmen, and golfers in particular.

Healthy living and chiropractic treatment go hand-in-hand, and with the warmer weather approaching, many of us are making the effort to exercise, taking to the great outdoors to perhaps enjoy a spot of golf. Here at the clinic, we treat many patients with sports and golf-related injuries – both new patients and those returning for ongoing treatment to keep their health in great shape.

We asked Shaun, one of our current patients, about his experience of chiropractic.

Shaun Manning, Manager at Petersfield Golf Club, says:

“As manager of a busy golf club, I spend a lot of time both at my desk and playing on the course.

I required immediate treatment due to severe back pain, and Peter Coote, Chiropractor at Active Health, carried out a full medical consultation, took a digital X-Ray, diagnosed the problem straight away and adjusted my spine – the relief was immediate and the results long-lasting.

Chiropractic does not rely on prescription drugs, which meant that I was able to get back to my desk, and the course, straight away without fear of drowsiness or side-effects that pain relief drugs can cause.

I would recommend Active Health to all within the golf community – both players and their families. The best sportsmen and women ensure their physical health is in top condition, and this is where I believe chiropractic treatment can help, by allowing the body to align and function perfectly, which can enhance technique.

With golf, it’s the subtle differences that can make the difference between a good and a great player – if you’re able to improve your physical health which in turn improves your swing, that can be a game-changer.”

Golf is a sport that can, on occasion, aggravate old injuries. Like any sport, the body can become strained from repetitive injury, for example from carrying clubs incorrectly. Please see our golf tips here.

With the body perfectly aligned and in optimum physical health, you will be free to enjoy the sports of your choice. If you want to improve your physical health, are suffering from an older or very severe injury, or just want to speak to us to find out more, do get in touch. We look forward to receiving new patients at the special rate of £20.
